dlDan Lucas is a freelance journalist, writer and editor based in London. He focuses mostly on sport, music and television, but is also available for copy writing.

The Guardian

I have written live reports of international cricket matches and cycling events for The Guardian Sport online. I also work there as a fronts editor and have subedited a number of print and online articles.

Drowned in Sound

Drowned in Sound is the UK’s largest music webzine. Now in its 13th year, it attracts some 30 million readers per year. I have been writing for them since 2010 and have published some of the site’s most-read reviews this year, with my review of Beady Eye’s BE attracting a record number of social network interactions.

As well as reviews I have written features, including coverage of the 2013 Primavera Sound Festival and interviews with Eels, Air, The Duckworth Lewis Method, Yann Tiersen and Swans.

Under the Radar magazine

Under the Radar is one of the few remaining successful music print magazines in America. Printed nationwide across the U.S., it has a circulation of approximately 65,000 per issue and 85,000 individual readers per month online. I have several reviews published per month as well as features in both print and online.

Since 2012, I have interviewed The Pet Shop Boys, Antlers, Dutch Uncles, Django Django, East India Youth, Weekend, Neon Neon, Pond and Temples.

I have also acted as deputy News and Media Editor. This involves maintaining the website with breaking music news stories and premiering new tracks from featured artists, as well as promoting the site through social media platforms.

Louder Than War

Between 2010 and 2011 I was Reviews Editor for Louder Than War, the music webzine run by acclaimed Manchester-based author, journalist and musician John Robb. I was responsible for liaising with PRs to get review copies of albums to review, assigning these to the team of writers, and maintaining the reviews section of the website. As part of this role I also subedited the reviews. Under my tenure, the website received up to 15,000 hits per day.

Copy writing

I have written marketing case studies for Green 4 Solutions, a leading developer of Sports CRM software with a strong global presence.

Dan has worked with us on a number of Sports Business Articles. His investigation of the subject matter, detailed analysis and searching questions  have led to written pieces of the highest quality: articulate, challenging and thought provoking.
